What Happens When You Convert SVG to JPG
An SVG is a vector description, so it has to be rendered to a pixel grid before it can be encoded as JPEG. That fixes the resolution, and enlarging the result afterwards softens the edges. JPEG has no alpha channel, so any transparency in the SVG resolves against a solid background. The bigger consideration is suitability: JPEG compression is built for photographs and handles the flat colour and hard edges typical of vector artwork poorly, producing visible artefacts around lines and text.
Worth knowing before you convert
JPEG cannot store transparency, so the SVG's transparent background is flattened onto white rather than left clear. If you need the background to stay transparent, convert to PNG instead.
